13. Upon the commencement of work, on each occasion, the stungle, in its passage through

the water, would be deprived

of its proper proportion of cement, for which period the discharge from the shoot

should be conducted to a spot

on the outer part of the berm

where the concrete is not

a

required. After

while,

however, the concrete in the shoot, throughout its submerged length, would become properly charged with cement and a

steady

steady flow of suitable material thereafter follow:

14 Sufficient concrete

should be thus deposited on

the berm outside the toe of

the wall, by moving the shoot

over the area to be grouted, without withdrawing it from the water for each working period, the concrete penetrating the interstices between the upper stratum of stones until they are filled, the process apply.. only to the area of the berm immediately in the front of

the wall, so as to render it state
